HOUSE /GROUND Rules and Regulations

Section 1: GAMES RULES

a. FIBA Rules will be the official guiding rules throughout the tournament m unless otherwise superseded by this regulation to be applicable in this tournament

b. Game Loss by Forfeit: A Team shall lose a game by forfeit if:

1. It refuses to play after being instructed to do so by the referees and technical committee

2. Its actions prevent the game from being played

3. Playing team should be present fifteen (15) minutes before playing time.

c. Game Loss by Default: A team shall lose a game by default. If, during the game the number of players of the team on the court is no less than two(2) penalty for game lost by default

d. Players shall observe proper decorum ( e.g. UNIFORMS)

e. The minimum and maximum requirement of players in a team shall be 15 and 20 accordingly, but only 15 players are allowed to play in a game.

f. Jersey numbers should be from 4 to 26. Any player who fails to comply with this rule will not be allowed to play in the game.

g. The coach shall be responsible for any misbehavior of his team members and he is the only one allowed to stand during the games.

h. Only players and team officials are allowed to be in the bench

i. Only the coach can make enquiries by a team to the table officials and should be in a courteous manner

j. Only captain balls inside the court can approach or ask the referee/s for some clarifications, disputes or conflict during the game and should be in a courteous manner

k. Any player who commits a non- contact foul but had deliberately done so ( e.g. obstructing the vision and crossing the path of the opponent) will be charge of a TECHNICAL FOUL

l. Any player who commits a deliberate (contact) foul will be automatically thrown –out from the game and will be suspended to minimum (1) one game depending on the gravity of the offense. The organizers reserves the right to bar any player from playing the rest of the tournament, if the foul committed is very serious. The organizers have the right and authority to warn or penalized any team members for their misbehavior and unsportsmanlike conduct during and after the game m. In case of unavoidable circumstances wherein a game shall be stopped and to be continued in any other time. The score, time and status of both teams will be kept the same from the time the game was stopped

n. Any protest/complaint shall be forwarded in writing to the ORGANIZERS within 24 hours. The organizers upon receive of such shall at the same time$ reply in writing with the FINAL DECISION within 72 hours.

o. All teams are requested to maintain the cleanliness and physical arrangement of the game premises before and after the game

p. Referee’s decision is final

Section 2: The Teams and Players

a. This Tournament is open to all Expatriates/Residents of UAE regardless of their visa status

b. The team line-up upon registration and submission to WWW.DUPLAYS.COM and had been completely confirmed shall be final.

c. The head coach shall represent his team and or his duly authorized representatives every meetings called by the organizers, their failure to attend will void his voting rights in any decisions arrived during the meeting

d. In Violation of this rules and as stated in the FIBA Rules, teams shall be penalized with a technical foul

Section 3: AWARD

a. Selection of individual awards including the TOURNAMENT MVP/Mythical Five will be based on the player/s statistics whose team advances to the semi-final. Finals MVP and Best Coach will be chosen from the Champion team

b. The champion, 1st runner-up and 3rd runner-up teams shall be awarded by trophies and medals

Section 4: TOURNAMENT FORMAT

a. For eight (8) to sixteen (16) teams: Teams shall play a single round in the elimination. The top four (4) teams will advance to the semi-finals, wherein they will play a knock-out game (1 vs.4) (2 vs. 3) The winners of these matches will play best of Three (3) series in the Finals and the losers will play a knock-out game for the third place. Team that wins all their games in the elimination shall have a twice to beat in the Semi-Finals.

b. Game schedule are being posted at WWW.DUPLAYS.COM , once posted and given to each team will be deemed final. Any request for changes will not be entertained
